The Host

Wednesday.

Woke up at 8 am.
Had some dimsum with a few friends.
They came over to Penang for holidays.
And I'm their host.
I need to do some homework by browsing through visitpenang.com websites.
-_-!!!
Dang.

Drove them along Gurney Drive.
Then down to Esplanade.
The Esplanade here is a tad too pathetic as compared to the horny durian in Singapore.
They got a bit shocked when the Esplanade here is just a field.
Pointed to the canon and told them that is Fort Cornwallis.
I know no crap about the history of Francis Light there.

The guys need to buy toothbrushes.
So we went to Gurney Plaza.
It is the best shopping complex here but yet I'm really shy to bring them there.
What is Gurney Plaza as compared to that stretch at Orchard Road?

Tried to kill some time before check-in.
So we went to the Toy Museum.
But wtf is that?
Just some figurines here and there.
I will say don't bother going there if you were to visit here.
Penang is just about food.

Checked-in.
Played a bit of tai tee.

Dropped them at Lorong Selamat for the famous char koay teow and laksa.

The driver need some rest.
>.<

Dinner time at Gurney Drive hawker centre.
It's a tourist spot afterall.

Back to the hotel.
Rest and tai tee a while.

Pubbing time.
Went to Upper Penang Road.
The night life there was pretty off.
Maybe everyone went to bed early.
Hang out at Shamrock.
Sipping a shot each while playing bridge.
The driver, me, was not allowed to drink much.
Till 1am.
My mummy sms-ed.

Sent them back to the hotel.
And drove back home at 100 km/h.

No worries. I'm not aggressive.
Somehow Singaporeans think that I'm a steady and experienced driver.
This is the second time.
Teeheehee.
=)

Thursday.

J called.

J says:
Where are you?

sarah y says:
At the hotel. Playing bridge.

J says:
I miss you.
Until what time?

sarah y says:
Slightly past midnight.
12 plus.

J says:
But it's 12 plus now.

sarah y says:
Uh. Soon. I'll be going back soon.

J says:
Phew phew.

The BF surprise inspection every 3 hours.

And that boy fell asleep after I rushed back.

So now I'm going to sleep too.

Nitey.

haha.

the last time i was in penang, i went to bed. as in bed, the club.

i don't much like penang... not even the food. i don't like penang style or-chien (oyster omelette) where they mush the eggs and oysters together. i like my or-chien thin and crispy (sarawak style).

If you don't like the food, then it's really nothing much.

But then again, this is Msia.
A bulk of it appears to be nothing much to me.
